In this way, I maintain a flexible outlook and keep an upbeat, positive attitude that is life-affirming and goal-oriented on several fronts.

My personal journey disciplines include a plan to participate in managing councils that promote shared leadership. This is an important part of developing one's career and taking on greater responsibility, and I am very active and supportive of this step. I also take part in action learning exercises used to problem-solve workplace issues. This helps me to reflect, adapt, and transition over time from one chapter to the next, whether in my personal life or work life. I enjoy nurturing both the intellectual and emotional sides of myself and take time to do both, recognizing that this is an essential part of staying whole.

My one weakness in this area is keeping commitments to myself, because I tend to place commitments to others before my own needs. However, I recognize that a balance is necessary — I will not be good for others if I do not first ensure my own needs are being met.
