The way in which the U.S. responded to the terrorist attacks of 2001, and how the plans are progressing as to how to prevent future attacks (including possible laws) is found within this paper. The point of the paper is how to combat future terrorism and it is clear from the references used that terrorism is not going away any time soon and due to the hatred of the U.S. by many people in foreign lands, it should not come as a surprise that more violence may occur here in the U.S.

This paper deals with the restrictions placed on Americans by acts such as the Patriot Act and the role the media played in its immediate passing. It also suggests that American citizens should be willing to sacrifice some of their civil liberties in order to allow for a safer America.

In 2011, the PATRIOT Sunsets Extension Act made possible the tracking of small businesses and corporate affairs that are on the territory of the United States. The applicability of this law can be seen in the most common working spaces and, thru this, the confidentiality of the information shared and traded via the Internet becomes a matter of the past. The Patriot Act is therefore an issue of concern and at the same time a matter of ensuring security for the population of the United States. However, it is important to consider the price in terms of privacy that both the average American as well as its international counterparts need to pay in order to obey by the Patriot Act and the necessity for safety.

Terrorism is by its very nature is anti-democratic as it seeks to achieve political ends by violence. It has no interest in any of the bedrocks of democracy such as building consensus, stimulating debate or protecting…

For most of us, dealing with money has been altered by technology. Most of us use money out of ATM's or we pay bills with online banking just as easily as we change channels on a television.

This paper discusses the pros and cons of the Patriot Act. While the American government insists that the Act has made the world safer, citing the lack of catastrophic terrorist events on American soil as occurred on 9/11, civil liberties groups state that there is no direct link between the provisions of the Act and improvement in civilian safety and that the Act is unconstitutional.
