Abstract Health care, and that too, a quality health care is one of the most basic needs of any human being. In current times, where the fast paced lives are getting faster each day, work stresses are increasing, streets are being storm with junk foods and fast foods, and pollution and congestion is increasing, human lives are getting more and more prone to physical and mental diseases. As a result, the importance of health care systems and health care facilities increases. While, surgeons and doctors are generally seen as the captain of the ship as far as health sector is concerned, very important personnel of the health sector are the nurses. Once quite ignored, the importance of the nursing profession was highlighted by Florence Nightingale, one of the nursing pioneers. Florence Nightingale broke the conventional perceptions associated with the profession of nursing and took it to a new level, explored various dimensions of nursing and added significance to the profession. Ever since then nursing has evolved a great deal and is still in the process of evolving. Over a period of time researchers around the world have shown great interest in studying the field of nursing.

Electronic Health Records Since the introduction of electronic health records, the U.S. government, information systems developers and associations of healthcare providers have worked toward establishing a uniform, integrated system of electronic health records. Presenting problems inherent in new computer systems, pockets of resistance and regulations/requirements that lag behind technology, healthcare professionals nevertheless envision the day when electronic health records become a seamless and highly effective tool for excellent patient care and lower healthcare costs. Consequently, multi-disciplinary professionals continually work to adapt and refine computer systems with an eye toward the future integration of all medical records in a system-wide, effective tool.

In this paper we present an in-depth analysis of the prison system. This discussion is carried out in line with the observed cases of ethical, legal, and standards of practice considerations.The other issues addressed are the social and cultural composition of the population served and culturally sensitive practices, a theoretical framework that reflects the professional ethical codes of your field. Issues of informed consent and acknowledgement of client and patient rights, strategies to ensure confidentiality and potential problems that result from dual relationship issues are also discussed.

Taking the history of a patient is a crucial aspect of patient assessment and treatment. A good history can mean the difference between a successful patient outcome and unsatisfactory outcomes. However, taking a complete and useful history is a skill that is developed by means of training and practice; it is not some talent that is innate (Bickley & Szilagyi, 2007; McKenna et al., 2011). According to Craig (2007) nurses are increasingly being asked to take patient histories. Given these growing responsibilities nurses need training and guidelines to taking an adequate patient history. The following is a summary and critique of Craig, L. In order to have a successful hospital environment and to avoid accidents a highly organized system can be achieved by installing Interdisciplinary care. All the members of the hospital belonging to diverse fields should work as a team, by coordinating with each other sharing a common aim for the patients. Installation of an Interdisciplinary care system in a hospital is advantageous for patients, health care provider, students and for health care delivery system. There are three main tasks of interdisciplinary team, the coordination, communication and sharing of responsibilities.

This paper discusses the appropriate procedure for a hospital to follow when a patient presents with atypical symptoms of a heart attack. Current core measures dictate a specific response when patients present with classic heart attack symptoms such as chest pain. However, early heart attack symptoms are often more subtle, and a significant percentage of heart attack patients never experience the classic symptoms. This paper advocates expanding the core measures to include patients presenting with atypical AMI symptoms.

Women who drink alcohol during pregnancy risk the health of the fetus and implicitly, the health of the child after birth. There are few studies made on humans in what concerns alcohol and interferences in prenatal development. That is why research is primarily based on animal studies. It is difficult to determine the exact amount of alcohol that can influence the fetus' development in a negative way and that is way women who plan to have a baby or women who found out that are pregnant should stop drinking during their pregnancies. Some of the most important consequences of severe exposure to alcohol during pregnancy are fetal alcohol syndrome or the death of the fetus. These two, are not the only negative effects that the alcohol has on prenatal development. The brain of the fetus and the healthy development of the fetus' body are also affected by alcohol.

Ethics and multidimensionality provide a way for the nurse to advocate for the patient. This is, of course, a gray area at times – certain drugs or tests may have initial negative or painful effects, but in the long run, provide relief to the patient. However, while the nursing code of ethics echoes the Hippocratic Oath of "do no harm," the greater or long-term benefit to the patient may, at times, override brief discomfort in order to heal
