This essay describes the aging process from beginning to end. There are the obvious signs of aging, that include fine lines, wrinkles and gray hair, but there are also psychological aspects. Older people have the benefit of wisdom and life experiences under their belt, but they also have to deal with stresses related to family and friends who may pass before them, as well as chronic illnesses and the impending question; is euthanasia an option?

One of the more perplexing questions about human psychology revolves around the role of deviance. We know from empirical observation that if rats are placed in too crowded conditions, aggressive behaviors peak. When we study history, we are often amazed at the dichotomy between a species that can create such phenomenal beauty – Beethoven, the Sistine Chapel, acts of kindness and benevolence; and such utter ugliness – the Holocaust, Idi Amin, and Jeffrey Dahlmer. We also know, from psychological experiments, that there is a dark side within most everyone's psyche – one that expresses itself only at certain times.

This paper deals with the causes of school violence, particularly school shootings. It examines some of the statistics associated with this type of incident. Furthermore, it looks at behavior and characteristics of students that commit these crimes and there effects.

There seems to be a trend of involving and partnering with offenders in varying degrees to help develop new and more effective prevention strategies.
