Attraction Is Something Felt by
Pages: 2 Words: 596

Long-term close relationships relate to people considering that there is an almost perfect compatibility between themselves and the other person.
Sometimes people feel that there is a powerful connection between themselves and someone else shortly after their first encounter with the respective person. This is due to the fact that familiarity intervenes and makes it possible for people to immediately form a bond. In order for them to feel safer, people have the tendency to form bonds with those that have similar principles and interests as themselves. People like others that they believe to be familiar, and that they can understand and even influence.

Attraction can also be felt towards those that make people feel good about themselves, and, that appreciate and admire them for what they are. Consequent to learning that their personalities are similar, two people are most likely to feel that it would be safe for them to…...

Attraction and Love
Pages: 2 Words: 861

Attraction & Love
The song that is one of my favorite love songs is "Unchained Melody"; Alex North wrote the music and Hy Zaret wrote the lyrics in 1955. Several artists recorded the song (including Al Hibbler, who had a #3 top 40 hit; Ricky Nelson, Roy Orbison, the Supremes, and many more). In 1965 the Righteous Brothers had a huge hit with that song, and it became even more famous when it was used in the 1990 film "Ghost."

The kind of love that is exhibited in this song that is closest to Robert Sternberg's eight types of love is "Romantic Love" because the song is all about how much the singer loves the person (in this case a woman), is crazily wildly passionately in love with her, is terribly lonely because he doesn't have her in his life -- and yet he does not have a commitment from her. And…...

Attractions of Violent Entertainment' Men and Boys Like it More
Pages: 5 Words: 1938

Goldstein, Jeffrey 1999 'The Attractions of Violent Entertainment', Media Psychology, vol.1, no.3, pp. 271-282.
The core idea of this article is that majority of researchers only concern themselves with effects of violence in mass media, neglecting the question of why the audience is attracted to violent entertainment in the first place. The author describes the attractions of violent entertainment, based on a project supported by the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation (HFG).

This article fits into a lot of different categories on violence such as the violence in movies and video games. There is plenty of literature that dives into this subject matter but appears to tackle this subject matter. Other articles makes the point at that violence is basically the foundation of a lot of films, TV movies, and not to mention even action series. To take it even further, violence is repeatedly identical with "action." For the reason that screenwriters, directors…...

Sexual Attraction
Subconscious Sexual Attraction and Gender

Sexual desire is a complex science, perhaps equally impacted by sociological imperatives as by innate biological imperatives. hile physical attractiveness constitutes one basic and salient reason that individuals are drawn to one another, this feature only serves as part of the explanation for what causes unilateral or mutual desire. A host of other subconscious factors enter into the reaction that is triggered when one individuals is sexually attracted to another. As the discussion hereafter will demonstrate, sexual attraction is influenced by a subconscious-level reading of DNA and a fulfillment of gender-loaded biological imperatives. The discussion will additionally demonstrate that while procreation is often the biological and the subconscious engine driving sexual attraction, sociological forces such as control and patriarchy have also long played a part in how gendered sexuality is studied, discussed and even how it is manifested. These sociological and biological forces converge to…...

Effects of similarity on interpersonal attraction

The aim of the various researches carried out on how individuals interact and form either positive or negative relationships. To fully investigate these issues, Bryne (1961) highlighted the need to acquire knowledge about the various independent variables. Majorly, Bryne (1961) contends that the functional and physical distance influences interpersonal attraction and interactions in general. Another variable is the environment, which should be conducive to allow and encourage interaction and lastly, individual properties that stimulate responses from other individuals from other similar interactions they may have encountered previously. The main problem however that was been investigated by the various researchers aimed at finding out the impact of similar attitudes to attraction and the reasons for these impacts (Bryne, 1961, pg.713).

Two factors ultimately influence interpersonal attraction after the initial interaction has been established. These factors have been identified punishment and mutual reward. Therefore, attraction is encouraged when…...

People also go on vacation to experience what it is like to live and work on a farm, to be a meditating Buddhist monk or simply to engage in strenuous activities like riding horses on a ranch. For the visitor, because these unfamiliar activities are exotic, they are attractions, but for a resident they are merely work.
However, although 'voluntourism' has brought attention and revenue to many formerly hidden areas of the globe, there is also a great deal of criticism of this phenomenon. An individual's socioeconomic condition, the argument against voluntourism goes, should not be a tourist or visitor attraction. The idea of gawking at a poor area of the world, in return for a short period of 'feel good' volunteerism is deemed to be exploitative.

Regardless of one's feelings about 'voluntourism,' however, its growing…...

Attraction in the OfficeIntroductionAttraction is a universal phenomenon that plays a pivotal role in forming romantic relationships. It encompasses not just physical attractiveness, but also elements of psychological and emotional allure. This essay looks at the concept of attraction, explores an empirical study associated with the topic, and applies it to the evolution of a relationship in the popular TV show The Office, while highlighting limitations of the theory and research.General Description of the TopicAttraction, in the realm of psychology, refers to a force that draws people together. It is multi-faceted, often influenced by physical appeal, proximity, similarity, and complementary characteristics. Attraction can be driven by both conscious factors (like shared interests or values) and subconscious ones (like the 'mere-exposure effect', where repeated exposure to a stimulus enhances one's feelings towards it). One empirical study that sheds light on this concept is "Attitudinal Effects of Mere Exposure'" by Zajonc (1968).…...

(Swami & Furnham, 12) Such features suggest that even from an evolutionary perspective, physical attraction takes on crucial proportions.
It also reveals the sheer complexity of the subject, with the array of disciplines addressed here really only scratching the surface of an infinitely multifaceted discussion. The reality of attraction is that beyond these socially constructed ideas of beauty, forces of symbolic shared interest and ethnically-enforced needs for commonality, there are yet innumerable indefinable features that enter into the attraction of one individual to another.

Since its inception the internet has affected nearly every aspect of society so it is only natural that it would eventually impact on our most intimate of relationships: romance. In just a short twenty years the internet has nearly revolutionized the dating process and determined who and how we meet each for purposes of establishing both casual and permanent romantic relationships. Words: 143

Educational tourism for young people is a great topic. Unfortunately, many educational tourism destinations are too focused on adults. To plan a seminar on developing the needs of this type of tourism for the younger crowd, it would be important to reach out to educational tourism locations either in the local area or even nationwide. Asking them to come and talk to the participants could create a seminar that's highly valuable and also showcase the need for change. Additionally, you can create a seminar that's designed more as a focus group, where people who are concerned about the lack of....
