Nurses in this community function in progressively diverse environments like community health centers, educational institutions, street clinics, youth centers, and medical outposts with different associates whilst fulfilling the health needs of the communities around them.
Nursing is mainly assisting individuals (sick or well) in the performance of those actions leading to wellness, or its restoration (or to a relaxing death) that they would execute unaided if they had the necessary strength, will, or information. It is the exclusive contribution of nurses to help individuals to be independent of such assistance as soon as possible. Nurses are temporarily the consciousness of the subconscious, the love of life of people seeking suicide, the leg of the amputee, the sight of the recently sightless, a means of locomotion for the infant, information and confidence for the young mothers, a speech for those too poor to talk, and so on.
This role, as just defined, is the one most of us wish someone will execute when we need 'nursing' and I believe no other healthcare staff wants to claim it or take it from nursing staff.
