Virtual Reality and Audience

Last reviewed: August 8, 2016 ~3 min read

¶ … virtual reality event at a museum. I was really excited to go because I'm always interested in learning more about technological innovation and how it is used in different ways. The new virtual reality technology out there involves the use of multiple cameras that record in all directions and are thus used to create experiences using the captured imagery. The image is thus viewed through the virtual reality goggles.

I was really impressed by the opening speech of the vent. One of the speakers works for the United Nations. That speaker presented and spoke about some o the things that virtual reality is used for. As an example, one of the image sets used was a refugee camp. In other words, the virtual reality goggles can be used to depict and show what a Syrian girl in a refugee camp and her surroundings would look like. IT is a new and innovative way to show just how bad and destitute the situations are for these people. Indeed, many people started to cry after experiencing the virtual reality images of the camp. The United Nations is using the virtual reality show to try and help raise funds by bringing people to the camps without having to take them there.

I got chance to experience the virtual reality personal. However, the static image was not as good as it was from the video shown at the starting speech to the event. There were only two pairs of virtual reality goggles but they allowed people to feel the flat image. If they were to explain the video to the audience, it would be better for new viewers. The educating part was quiet and boring because of their approach was too technical for the most of audience. When one of the artists tried to explain that how the virtual reality images work, the audience seemed lost and confused.
