While most people would fail to identify links between Bill Gates and Martin Luther King, it is actually intriguing to compare these two individuals and their accomplishments from the perspective of someone interested in social progress. Both of these individuals were visionaries and both of them focused on having the social order acknowledge that it is essential for it to get actively involved in improving conditions in the world. Even with the fact that one is a businessman while the other was a Civil Rights advocate, these two individuals have had a strong influence on the lives of individuals today and can be considered largely responsible for attitudes currently adopted by people who fight for positivity.

Bill Gates is for many people the most important person in the contemporary society. This owed to his involvement in computer technology, his actions as a philanthropist and largely because of his character. This man demonstrated that it is possible for an individual to be humble and the richest person on the planet at the same time. He proved that ideas are worth everything as long as one knows how to bring them to life, and he made it possible for numerous individuals to regard life as a journey of self-discovery. Gates was practically a kid at the time when he started to cause wave in the early computer industry and he performed a series of accomplishments that enabled him to experience rapid progress in this domain.

did not express interest in technology, as he was more concerned in false values promoted in society and in opening people's eyes regarding the errors that they committed through ignoring large scale injustices. This person was, similar to Gates, a child prodigy and he rapidly progressed through educational institutes as a consequence of his thirst for knowledge. While some might be inclined to believe that Luther's influence has been less intense when compared to Gates', the truth is that Luther also managed to influence the whole world as a result of his determination and as a consequence of the fact that he demonstrated that anyone who is oppressed by a majority can stand up for his or her rights and eventually succeed as long as he or she actually believes in victory. While Luther did not use technology to achieve success, he played a major role in assisting the social order in experiencing progress because he taught people in regard to the importance of forming a united front with the purpose of improving conditions in society.
Luther's 'idea' was largely similar to Gates' 'idea' when considering that they both fought for their principles and eventually experienced great success. Gates created life-changing technology while Luther created life-changing ideas, both of them managing to provide humanity with essential values. Just like Luther's dream, Gates' idea materialized into what we now perceive as the normal world. "His idea was to put a personal computer on every desk of every business in America" (Powerful Attitudes 70). He did much more than that, taking into account that he managed to provide the whole world with technology that can save lives and with devices that people can use in some of the most remote areas from around the globe.
