World Is Flat by Tom Friedman From the term "The World is flat," Tom Friedman means the international competitive ground is being leveled. It is now possible for individuals to work together and contend directly with others on different types of work from different sides of the globe and on an equivalent ground than in the world history. Friedman considers that this "flattening" around the globe is the result of ten forces. Although most of the ten forces had existed for years, he argues that due to various convergences, these flatteners had obtained extra power at the turn of the 21st century. As a result, they formed a new worldwide web-enabled stage, which permitted a multitude of collaborations. Friedman's metaphor represents well the supporters of the resultant globalization process who contend that the whole world has become an even ground. Friedman made popular the term "the world is flat," which was the headline of his undercover journalism-based article (Friedman, 2005).
