¶ … target Audience
The role of the educator has been essential within the development and progression of human society since its inception. Educators guide us along our paths to learn and improve our current human condition. They prove an important piece of society as a whole, and have recently had their job security placed under scrutiny with talks of implementing post-tenure reviews and other methods of abolishing the tenure system within our current educational model. Thus, these educators will prove to be the largest and most active audience for the purpose of this research, however students and parents will also prove important audience members as well based on the nature of the profession in question.
The audience intended to benefit from the bulk of this research is both educated and employed within a skilled profession. As teachers and professors, these individuals will prove highly motivated by results of such research as well as be involved within the context of the findings. Teachers and professors both approaching and past their tenure marks are the specific audience of this review. Working within an educational field that has promised them the reward of a tenure position after years of employment has assured many educators that their jobs within the various ranks of education will be secured. Yet, recently, efforts to create post-tenure review have placed that solid security in great jeopardy. Thus, studies and research revolving around the current tenure system, its benefits, as well as the consequences of implementing tenure review will prove of great importance to educators currently employed within the field. Also, parents and students themselves will prove to be affected by the implementation of post tenure reviews and the abolishment of the tenure system all together. Students stand to loose good teachers, or benefit from allowing incompetent teachers being let go despite their employment length. For this same reason, parents also stand to be an important audience for such research. Their children will either directly benefit or suffer from changes within the current tenure system.
