System Proposal
Computer System Proposal
Mr. Manager-
As you are no doubt aware, it has been a considerable time since the computer systems we use here at the company have been updated. It is true that the current system, including the hardware, software, and basic network components continue to meet the most basic operating needs of the office, but I believe that with an updated and more efficient computer system productivity could be improved tremendously. A great deal of time is spent waiting for simple tasks such as printing, digitally retrieving information form the local network/mainframe, and other tasks repeated multiple times throughout the day by most if not all office staff in the carrying out of our basic duties. A more efficient computer system with more updated technologies would eliminate much of the wait time currently experienced, allowing more work to get done in a shorter period of time.
An article in Business News Daily suggests that computers in a work environment should be replaced as often as every three years, though computers in an average organization are around four years old (Meredith, 2010). As many of the components of our current computer system are more than five years old, there could be a significant cost savings produced by replacing and updating the system, in addition to the extra revenue generated by increased productivity (Meredith, 2010).
I have already begun preliminary investigations as to some of the specific components, processes, and features that might be desirable in this new system, and am awaiting your approval to conduct further research and feasibility analysis with this project, to eventually lead to the development and implementation of the system. I am very optimistic that this project could ultimately help to drive this company to new heights, capable of more fully capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
Respectfully yours,
Mr. Cubicle

Another option is to use a network simulator which is a device that allows you to exactly model the target network and then see the effect of changing key factors such as routing, link speeds and priorities (Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and network performance, 2007). The questions that arise after deployment include: is the VoIP system delivering adequate perceived voice quality? And Is the VoIP application affecting the performance of other applications?

Clearly from this case and others there is a critical need for the development of safeguards on consumer data captured over the Internet, both of the opt-in (where the customer approves the data being captured) and the non-opt-in variety. An Explicit Requirement for Transparency and Ethical Use of Data Consumers have become increasingly concerned that their data, however acquired, will eventually be sold without their knowledge, eventually leading to the potential
In setting this plan for implementation and maintenance the ultimate goal for the district within the next five years is the creation of a student-to-computer ratio of 1-1 in grades 3-12 and 3-1 for grades K-2 in accordance with developmental studies for the utilization of technology in lesson and course plans for each respective grade. Computers will be updated on an annual basis, with replacement being taken into consideration
