Surgical Assisting The surgical assistant is an integral member of the health care surgical team. Assisting is in fact a growing profession, one that I am enthusiast about participating in. The surgical assistant is responsible for possessing the knowledge and skills to capably and efficiently assist the surgeon and other team members to assure the best possible outcome for a patient.
