¶ … Strategic management is very important today and, indeed, there must be a plan of action when it comes to developing a company both locally and globally. There are many important issues that must be taken into consideration today. As mentioned, environmental, international trading laws, competitors, and consumer needs are all at the top of organizations' priorities. Adapting to new business regulations is also another factor worth mentioning.
Changing the way of profit may be necessary for certain organizations, but, perhaps, not for all. All companies need to consider the changing of the times. Everyone has environmental concerns these days and they shouldn't be considered an element that helps or doesn't help a company make profit. Granted, it is important that companies follow environmental laws, but when it comes down to profit, that isn't something special about a company (or at least it shouldn't be); this is how all companies should operate. The same goes for companies and international trading laws. All companies should follow consumer trading laws.
It is true that with any business, a plan of action to develop a company is important. A company should know what it wants to stand for -- both locally and globally -- and how they decide to put their image forth as a company will have a huge effect on how successful they are.
Staying on top of the competition is, obviously, important -- but, it is more important for a company to know who they are and what they stand for than worrying about whether or not they are better than the competition. As long as they are striving to be the best they can be, then they have all of their bases covered. When they are in competition with other companies that also know what they stand for, then the competition is truly an adversary that needs to be dealt with by making sure that your companies ways of working are superior.

The power of a name is very important. The individual stated that everyone knew who was being talked about once a name was mentioned. And, even though other companies tried to compete, nobody ever came close to the popularity of that film's brand name.
