Statement Of Purpose In Diversity Law Program Admission Essay

Personal Statement in Diversity Law Program The Chinese-Americans are among the most successful minority in the United States, yet, they are the most discriminated and under-represented minority group in the United States. According to the 2010 census, the Chinese-American population was 3.8 million approximately 1.2% of the overall American population. Between 2000 and 2010, the Chinese-American population increased by 43%. Despite the population changes, the Chinese-American born in the United States are still underrepresented in the U.S. corporate affair because of their low English proficiency.

The major driving force that makes me pursuing the master's law program and focusing on the diversity of the Chinese-American born in the United States is based on my profound interest in the diversity law and my intent in solving problems related to the diversity. Thus, it is extremely important to address the diversity problem facing the Chinese-American based on their population increase in the United States. Considering the current under-representation of the Chinese-American, my main goal is to explore the possible solution to the problem.

My interest in law is to enhance my greater understanding in the area of diversity jurisdiction to alleviate the problem that many Chinese-Americans are facing in term of discrimination and bias that might affect their well-being in the United States....

Since I had been in college, my preoccupation was to devise a the strategy to improve the diversity of Chinese-American in all professions in the United States because many headline news still revealed how the Chinese-American was being underrepresented in many professions such as law, healthcare, teaching, and other corporate affairs.
The Chinese-Americans contribute to the American economy significantly through their entrepreneurship and purchasing power. More than one million Chinese-American businesses employ more than one million Americans and deliver sales and receipts of nearly $500 billion projected reaching $775 Billion before the end of 2016. Despite the immense contribution of Chinese-American into the American economy, the Chinese-American are still underrepresented in the health insurance coverage. I will likely to pursue my master degree in law and after finishing my law degree, I will like to work in the corporate legal environment to promote diversity in the law field in the future. Typically, the equal opportunities initiatives are very critical within the workplace to enhance equal access to services. My goal is also to make the Chinese-Americans having equal access to employment as well as educational opportunities in different organizations. Essentially, the law plays an important role in maximizing the individual uniqueness through the application of the diversity initiatives. My accumulated knowledge in law will assist me to promote trust and confidence among Chinese-American born in the United States.

These unique interests in diversity have made me applying for the master program in your acclaimed university. I intend to write an extensive research paper on law related to under-representation of Chinese-American to enhance a body of knowledge of the academic community and the business community. My research contribution will benefit academic community especially the field of law. While attaining my cherished goal through my academic pursuit, nevertheless, the graduate law program will enhance my accumulated body of knowledge in solving the diversity problems among the Chinese-Americans. I will also make a substantial contribution to the business communities and enhance their greater understanding on the strategy to apply diversity in the workplace.
