It is evident why such aspects as vision and purpose are integral to the success of this type of organization. The American Red Cross is in the business of effectively responding to many kinds of emergencies with efficiency and care. To execute such missions of assistance is neither easy nor spontaneous. It requires a great deal of planning as well as improvisation, as emergencies are inherently surprises and within an emergency situation there can arise many conditions that are unexpected, unplanned, and require adaptability. This is why such aspects as purpose and vision are crucial elements to an organization such as the American Red Cross. Imaginably, the value that the American Red Cross seeks to cultivate and propagate concerns unity, learning, volunteerism, helping others, and a general spirit of compassion and benevolence.
