So for various political and economic interests, the ugly practice of slavery was allowed to continue in the country that claimed to be the champion of democracy. The blacks and Americans will forever remember Abraham Lincoln as the man who emancipated the slaves and abolished this abominable practice once and for all, but the truth is that Lincoln did this only for political reasons.
