Artists and Art of Tijuana- San Diego Border and the Economic Impact San Diego -- Tijuana border lies between the United States and Mexico and it is an international metropolitan conurbation border that is straddling between San Diego in the United States and Tijuana in Mexico. The population of the region in 2012 was 4.9 Million making the border the largest bi-international conurbation shared between Mexico and the United States. The economy success of the world has assisted San Diego -- Tijuana border to record over $136.3 billion in GDP 2002. Over the years, the artistic works are flourishing at San Diego -- Tijuana border allowing talented artists from Mexico and the United States displaying the work of arts. The increase in tourists across the border has also assisted the work of art to be flourishing contributing to the economic impact of the area.

The objective of this proposal is to investigate the art and artists at San Diego-Tijuana Border and the economic impacts.

Analysis of Scholarly Articles

The study will use the document analysis to complete the proposal evaluating different sources related to the project. Brouillette, and Lynne's article is related to the project pointing out that there are different multicultural programs across elementary schools in San Diego because the artworks are illustrated by building bridges portraying the images of different cultures in San Diego. According to the authors, the economic impact of the work arts may not be noticeable, however, the students are contributing to the multicultural development through money spent towards their education. Analysis of the author's argument shows the xenophobic between U.S. -Mexico relations is gradually diminishing because the arts are bringing the communities together. Apart from enhancing the quality of education in schools, the economic impact is noticeable in schools because parents are increasingly investing in their children education because of art development. Thus, the article is a good source for the proposal because it explores the economic impact of the school systems to the Tijuana- San Diego Border and how arts have contributed to the better outcomes of the school systems.

The authors also reveal that the Tijuana's unique architectural design has become the hot spot for the art scene drawing tourists and pleasure seekers across the world contributing to the economy of the region. The article further reveals that the art attraction to the border has been the instrumental to the economic growth of the Silicon Valley because the multimedia art development has become the talk of the town in the area. Thus, the article is a good source for the proposal because it provides viewpoints from different perspectives exploring cultural perspectives of Tijuana areas and its contribution to the economic impact.
On the other hand, Wilson in their argument reveals that the historical pattern of the Tijuana shows that it is part of the Spain (702). While Mexico has taken their unique identity, nevertheless, Spanish arts still persist in the area where the native craftsmen provide an economic contribution to the area. The article will enhance a greater understanding of the arts and their economic contribution of San Diego-Tijuana border because the author reveals that the exhibition of artworks draws people from different background. Typically, the exhibition in the areas features over 220 years of mission art collections that comprise of sculptures, painting, textiles, books and silverwork related to the evangelization.
