Running For The President Of Essay

If you're a senior citizen, you won't see your Medicare benefits or your Social Security check go down. If you're a young person, just starting out, you'll have the chance at a good education and a job when you get out of school. With economic recovery and prosperity comes opportunity - the opportunity to buy your own home, save for retirement, and invest in a stock market that will be stabilizing. We need to uphold the traditional values on which this country was founded. Values that reflect us at our best, when we all work together as one nation. Why is it only in the aftermath of tragedy that we come together to help our fellow man? Why is it not every day, in small ways, so that there exists the opportunity for fewer tragedies? These are the tough questions. The kinds of questions we should be asking ourselves as individuals and as a nation, every day. What can we do to make things better? What can we do to help someone else? Every day, all around each one of us, opportunity exists to help ourselves and to help others. When we strike a balance between those two kinds of opportunities, we advance as individuals - but we also advance as a nation that sees the value of community. We can do great things together, and I am prepared to lead this country down the path to peace, prosperity, and the strength of which I know it's capable. Together, we can work to make America even better than it was before and better than it has ever been.

We know what to do - but the problem is that the people in Washington right now aren't doing it. I'm prepared to fight for you, and for this country. I'm prepared to stand up and say that enough is enough. It's time for real change - change that actually happens, not just change that's talked about. Right now, Washington is all talk and no action. It's a stalemate, because nobody gets along and they can't seem to work together. But I'm an optimist, and I see the strength and beauty and value in this nation. I see what we are and what we could become. We are a great nation, but we have the ability to be so much more. Let's seize that chance. Let's stand up for what we believe in and what we know is right. Let's make a difference. It may sound hard. It may seem like a lot of work - but how hard are things right now? It's time that we stepped out of our comfort zone and focused on where we want to go. How can we get there? Through focus, dedication, and a vision for the future. Through determination and an unwavering desire to move toward what we know is best for the country. Through making sure that we take care of ourselves and our fellow man. Together, we can make America the greatest nation in the world once again. We can grab the reigns and change the direction we're headed, so we end up where our forefathers intended - as one nation that is truly indivisible and that really does provide liberty and justice, not for some, but for all. Thank you.
