Religion, Political Affiliation, And Traditional Gender Roles Research Paper

¶ … ANOVA to the statistical assumptions of an ANOVA are as follows: The principal assumptions of ANOVA are as follows:

There must be statistical independence of the errors, and no correlation between independent variables and error.

There must be normality of the error distribution.

Homogeneity of variances

The dependent variable is a belief that it is better for the man in a couple relationship to go to work and for the woman to stay home to care for the children and the house. The independent variables are: 1) The respondents' income; 2) the highest year of school completed; and 3) the tendency "to think of self as liberal or conservative."

Ho = A belief in the traditional gender roles in a marriage is unrelated to income, education level, or political self-identification as conservative or liberal.

Ha = A belief in the traditional gender roles in a marriage is related to income, education level, or political self-identification as conservative or liberal.

For the ANOVA shows significant main effects for education level, or political self-identification as conservative or liberal (p < .001, C.I. [confidence interval] = 95.0%). The confidence interval is a range of variables for which one can be 95% certain contains the true mean of the population. The null hypothesis is rejected, as the main effects do indicate a relationship between the traditional gender roles in a marriage for education level, or political self-identification as conservative or liberal. Since the three factors are listed in the hypotheses as a relationship based on "or" not "and," the null hypothesis can be rejected.

Role of Spirituality in the Treatment of Depression Over the last thirty years, one of the most interesting paradoxes in the study and treatment of depression has been that increased knowledge about the biomedical and genetic causes of the disease has been coupled with a renewed interest in the effect of religion and spirituality on human mental health and well-being. No matter how religion and spirituality are defined -- and many

Social Contracts: Media Articulation Of The Rites Of HETEROSEXUAL vs. HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE RIGHTS In the Land of the Free where the Bill of Rights is supreme, all marital unions between consenting adults should be accorded the same level of societal respect and legality under federal and state laws. It was just a few decades ago when the Gay Rights Movement was born in a raucous Greenwich Village bar, but homosexuals have become

But what makes up a positive portrayal of homosexuality in the media? Ellen and Will are both examples from prime-time television, the kind described by Calzo as "laughable, one dimensional figures." Are such one dimensional representations of homosexuals capable of altering a public's perception of homosexuality in a positive way? If so, what is to be said of the erotically-charged representations shown by cable and premium networks, such as Showtime,

Stereotypes Practitioners of Certain Religions Have Faced
Words: 1319 Length: 4 Document Type: Essay

Stereotypes Practitioners of certain religions have faced prejudiced and stereotyped ideas about the personages because of the negative affiliations of their religion. Perhaps no religion is as stereotyped as the religion called Islam. Islam, antithetically to what the majority of ignorant people believe, is "a religion of ethics, obedience, harmony, and is based on a faithful belief system" (Hossain). It is a religion that promotes peace and the toleration of others.
