Fifth Annual Fort Belvoir Sexual Assault Awareness 5k Run/Walk
To whom it may concern:
At Fort Belvoir, April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In conjunction with our Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program (SHARP), we would like to invite you and all of our local businesses to participate in this unique and valuable opportunity to help us support the cause of protecting all persons from sexual harassment, exploitation, domestic violence, and assault. In addition to preventing sexual violence and exploitation, this initiative is also designed to provide critical support to all victims of sexual abuse. The U.S. military's SHARP program is designed to provide informational resources to prevent victimization, to provide support for victims, and to promote values that reduce offensive mindsets and related conduct..
When it comes to such important community issues, it is important to bridge the gap between the military and civilian communities for the benefit of our entire society. We hope that our collaboration will increase our understanding of the community and enable us to better serve victims of sexual exploitation and domestic violence. Toward that end, we are inviting all of the members of our local business community to contact our Fort Belvoir SHARP office to find out how you can support this cause. We would also greatly appreciate your assistance in helping us promote the initiative by allowing us to display flyers and announcements at your place of business. In addition to helping address this problem in our community, we believe that your participation at any level can only benefit your business by demonstrating to your partners and customers alike that you are committed to helping this community.
Naturally, we would also welcome your participation in other ways, such as by hosting events or by contributing your input, experiences, and advice as a professional business person as a scheduled guest speaker if you feel that you have a perspective to share on this important topic for our community.
