¶ … Power of Ambition
There are times in life when one realizes that things can change very quickly, and not always for the better. I have learned this lesson well while growing up because I faced many challenges, both physically, emotionally and mentally. Despite these tough times, however, I have learned to be an ambitious person and to appreciate all things in life, which is one of the most important lessons that a person can attain.
The reason I learned this lesson so early in life was due to an incident in the Fall of 2007. At the young age of 13, I woke up one morning with immense stomach pain. I knew immediately that something was wrong. I called out in acute agony for my family, for help, and remember only being rushed to the hospital. Banquo dies but Fleance escapes, and when the murderer arrives to tell Macbeth, the first thing Macbeth notices is "There's blood on your face" (III, 4, 13). This point is both a step forward and a step back for Macbeth; his former friend Banquo is dead, removing a source of suspicion, but Banquo's son lives, ready for revenge. In addition, both novels also touch on the romantic pursuits

While ancient myths may have lost their glory to many, they are still considered important by people like Joseph Campbell who have tried to unearth the mystery surrounding them. Campbell in his book Power of Myth has tried to highlight just that- 'power of myths'. Why are myths important, what
Women in Control What some see as a male-dominated world, others see females in control, sometimes behind the scenes. When it comes to selecting mates, it is women who are in ultimate control. And, they are quite selective. Of the many characteristics women look for in a man, good financial prospects, social status, ambition, size/strength, and dependability are only a few ("Women's Long-Term" 109). Although if a man has many of these
The Influence of the PRC Introduction The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is the state that most influences contemporary international security. The globalization of the Communist superpower projects brings employment and economic growth. Since joining the World Trade Organization, China has become an increasingly influential participant in the global economy, and has used this increase in wealth to finance its other ambitions, including re-establishing itself as a great maritime power and increasing
Power and the Glory": A Critical Analysis Graham Greene's book "The Power and the Glory" is about a "whiskey priest" who is heavily and sinfully involved with alcohol but still has some of his faith left. The authorities in Mexico have banned the Catholic religion, and they have sentenced individuals such as the main character to death. Still, however, he stumbles his way across Mexico, in an attempt to escape
