Personal statement on contributing to university mission

AAA school concept is an academic community which is based in the Jesuit catholic tradition. Jesuit Catholic education is being recognized world-wide for working upon a student's capabilities for critical thinking, efficient communication and decision-making which involves a great influence of ethics. Given my background of having educated in a Catholic female high school earlier, I understand that the Jesuit Catholic tradition considers faith and reason as being complementary to each other in its search for truth and human progress, and that encourages persons like me who can fully contribute themselves as part of the University. There are several colleges which impart high quality of education, but I believe that the aaa university is the only learning environment wherein I would be being challenged and encouraged to develop and promote my talents, to be of service to others, to promote and impart justice, and bring about a change in the world by learning various diverse cultural values.

One feature of globalization which cannot be denied is in relation to our increased consciousness of the whole world and how closely we all are inter-linked. The University distinguishes itself as a uniquely diverse learning community which is socially responsible and also possesses high quality scholarship which is rigorous and which is tied with a dedication to the world community. With regard to this aspect, I can contribute to the University in a tremendous manner as I have a global state of mind which accepts cultural diversity. I have an understanding that the various individuals and societies prevalent in different parts of the world are interrelated and that they are interdependent and I also possess the requisite knowledge and sensitivity to aspects of diversity and the world-wide view of issues and problems. Being an international student who has been staying in the U.S. For last four years, I have had the experience to know about the divergent cultural identities from very close quarters. I realize that cultural diverse experience is an important lesson to be successful in the world community. I can join in different cultural organizations available at the University and contribute myself towards those organizations with my experiences at hand and also gain more knowledge about the various cultural aspects.
