In my life, I have always regarded my roots to be the most important part of my life. My parents have endowed in me such great influence that even though I am a student in a foreign land, I have always looked back where I came from. I am from an Iranian descent and I am proud of it. The ways, the culture, and the up-bringing could be traced way back in our family's lineage from our mother country, Iran. I consider myself very blessed and lucky because I can experience both worlds, living in a western country while practicing the beliefs and culture of my ancestors. The Muslim faith is deeply instilled in my veins. This same faith has helped me to live and cope up with all of the things around me. Amongst all the quandary and obstacles in this troubled nation, my faith and religion has guided me to the right path. It has been very instrumental on all decisions that I made in life. Similar to that of the Christian Bible, the Koran is my reference and my guide towards every step and direction that I want to take. Allah is my savior and my only God. This is my life.

But please, don't get me wrong. I am still like any normal youth of this age and era. I still listen to pop-music. Hang out with my campus buddies. Live through pleasant fun in parties. Chat with friends and other sort of stuff. Like any other person of my age, I also wonder of the things that are around me. I like experiencing and experimenting on new technologies. I enjoy interacting with people from other places and nation in the internet. But most of all, I take pleasure in the thrills of exploring new places. It always gives me the feeling of satisfaction when I am able to acquire knowledge and information regarding a place or a country that I give interest into. This interest has pushed me to go a step further in gaining knowledge and familiarity to different places. Thus, it is time for me to travel. My first destination was my Motherland, Iran.

Well, maybe it was not enough that my parents brought me up with the kind of upbringing similar to that of a normal Iranian family. Perhaps, it was not even enough that I practice my Muslim faith to the kind of living life as it requires. Something was probably missing or lacking in all of this. At this point, it's time to experience the real thing. Having a chance to travel is both a fulfillment and a big leap in my life. It is a defining moment, wherein I am able to entirely decide the path that I want to take.
