Palm Computing Inc. Palm Computing Term Paper

Palm Computing had no other choice than to invent the Pilot, and if Hawkins had not created the Pilot, then it is doubtful whether anyone else would have been able to. It must be noted that by this time, plenty of companies had invested several millions of dollars and lost them in the quest to invent a perfect pen computer. However, in Palm Computing, after the success of the invention, 'delight the customer' seems to have been the company's mission. When the product was finished and about to be launched, the founder and Dubinsky decided to call it a 'pocket computer', but the fact is that it is simply a 'connected organizer' more than anything else. Thereafter, the mission statement of Palm computing was "Being the best Palm Source-Powered hardware manufacturer," and this is perhaps the same mission statement as that of its competitors, but this is where the company stands today.
