Over the last several years, the issue of effective treatment options in Learning Psychology has been increasingly brought to the forefront. This is because everyone will understand information based upon: their unique learning style and attributes that they are identifying with. As a result, each person will have specific strengths that will enhance their comprehension of key concepts. (Mumford, 1997, pp. 121 -- 134)

For psychologists this can be challenging; in knowing, what are the best ways to enhance their understanding of key ideas. In a field setting, this can be particularly difficult with everyone using those techniques that work most effective for them. To determine the best practices for learning there will be a focus on a number of areas to include: providing background information on the subject, focusing on the research question, proposed methods, what are the expected results and how the findings will impact Learning Psychology. Together, these different elements will provide specific insights that can be used to understand the different tactics that are utilized by mental health professionals. (Mumford, 1997, pp. 121 -- 134)

Background

A common challenge that occurs in the field of psychology is students are provided with a basic background of ideas and concepts. Once someone begins working, is when these principles will become a part of the basic strategies they are using. However, given the changing nature of personalities, they must be able to use their own experiences and judgments when determining how to address a host of situations. (Helms, 20911, pp. 30 -- 39)

Evidence of this can be seen with observations from Helms (1997) who said, "Incorporating strategies into the professional's approach to academic work in the psychology major will improve their chances of success in adjusting to the type of learning in the field. However, they must also be able to evolve with these ideas based upon the patients they are working with." This is illustrating how there are different concepts that provide everyone with a basic background. Yet, there must be some kind of flexibility that is utilized, which focuses on the most effective techniques. Once this takes place, is when mental health professionals will be more effective in dealing with a host of challenges. (Helms, 2011, pg. 35)

Research Question

These differences in views, have led to an emphasis on how to address these issues over the long-term. As a result, the research question will be concentrating on the best tactics and the ways they can be utilized. This will be accomplished by studying the following problem:

What specific tools and tactics can be the most successful in helping field psychologists to maximize their total amounts of learning comprehension?

Once this query has been answered, is when actuaries can find data that will identify the best approaches and how they can be applied (in a real world environment) by mental health professionals.

Research Methods

The research method that will be used is the mixed approach. This is when there is a focus on specific tactics that will look at previous studies (i.e. The quantitative method). At the same time, actuaries are collecting specific samples from field psychologists (i.e. The qualitative methodology). These techniques were selected, because they can provide everyone with a background of key concepts. This will be used to establish a foundation of what processes are the most effective. ("Mixed Method Research," 2011)

The Expected Results

The expected results will be that psychologists are using different tools and techniques in conjunction with each other. This means that there must be a focus on various disciplines (which are emphasizing a host of concepts). Therefore, a combination of principles from different philosophies will be utilized during the process. Over the course of time, this will help professionals to have a background in particular disciplines and then augment them with the best tools.
