Milestone has recognized this need and developed a free XProject Mobile video monitoring application that allows for its customers to be "close to what is important" (Milestone, 2012). Their system utilizes variations of onsite camera and site security packages to monitor locations for improper behaviors and activities as well as business efficiency. The release of the free Android-compatible Xproject Mobile seeks to sustain the video connection without losing access to key video viewing, capturing and sharing capabilities. The company sees itself as the maker of the "true open platform IP video management" domain (Xproject Mobile, 2012).
