Activity 1: Braun Pocket Radio

Entertainment has always been the most integral and essential part of lives of people regardless of the demographics, socio economical backgrounds, or age groups. The form of entertainment has evolved over a period of time with the evolution in technology. One of the most common and popular form of entertainment is music. Music lovers exist around the world and in every age group. While the music listening equipment dates back to the huge gramophone and radio, with the evolution in technology and industrial revolution, smaller and more portable equipments were invented. There came a time when the bigger equipments were replaced by the small portable radios.

Talking about the 1960s, it was known as one of the first most hip fashion eras. The fashion scene was influenced by major fashion hubs around the world. Besides clothing and apparel, carrying gadgets and accessories also became part of the fashion statement. This trend gained popularity with the launch of the Braun Pocket Radio. Braun, a German electronic brand, is now one of the major household icons. The 1.5 lbs battery operated portable radio, packed in a sophisticated leather case, became popular as it hit the shelves and the trend stayed for long. Not on the young party goers made it part of their style statements but was also popular among the older groups.

Although the trend died as more sophisticated devices came in, however, the 1960s Braun led style statement was revisited by Apple with the launch of IPods. The turning dial, colors, user interface and simplicity of IPods all resemble the 1960 Braun Pocket Radio.
Activity 2: Effects of Internet

As globalization increased with the coming of the internet lifestyles in every aspect have changed a great deal. Be it family life, fashion trends, business mechanisms, any and everything is influenced by the click, that is, the World Wide Web. The impact of internet on few of the aspects is discusses as follows.

Communication and Personal Relationship:

In the contemporary era, effective communication and personal relationships are the most important success elements. Both these elements are greatly influenced by the Internet age.

As far as communication is concerned, the rapidly developing internet technology has brought the world closer. Beyond doubt, the communication has become fast, quick, and easy. The world is now on one's finger tips. From dial ups to wireless internets and broadband, from email to Skype, video conferencing and mobile internet, communication has never been this easy, and it is getting easier each day.
