Leadership
One of the great leaders in history that I consider to have exemplified the true characteristics of a great leader is Martin Luther King. He is a leader who had risked his life just to fight for other peoples' freedom, a cause that very few people during his time would dare to fight for. Because of King's courage and belief that all men are created equal, he promoted for equality especially for the people of the black race. I consider Martin Luther King also as a hero because if not for him the people in the U.S. would perhaps be as segregated as it was before; where people of different races do not agree with each other and were always against each other. Especially for those who are not purely of American race, without King, racial discrimination would perhaps still widely exist in the U.S. Jack White, from his article Martin Luther King, has similar view on this achievement of King, suggesting that
It is only because of King and the movement that he led that the U.S. can claim to be...

Leaders exist throughout the ages and play pivotal roles in how humanity grows and develops. Some leaders change a nation, while others set the stage for the future leaders to take the reign. Indira Gandhi was one of the first female

He refused to take 'no' for an answer, when people said that no compromise was possible. Patience is one of Mitchell's most notable qualities, even though at the time
Nonetheless, the leadership abilities of Winston Churchill, as Lamb points out, "surely made the difference between defeat and victory during World War II and possibly helped to save Western civilization" (1993, 25). Personalities in Power: The Making of Great Leaders (Lafayette, LA: Huntington House Publishers, 1989) by Florence Littauer. Although somewhat biased, this work illustrates exactly what it takes to become a great leader. As Littauer tells us, "leadership is
Though there has been a strong correlation shown between the possession of certain key traits and effective leadership, no trait (or combination of traits) guarantees good leadership. More importantly, effective leadership does not really depend upon specific character traits so much as specific choices. The personality traits that can lead to good leadership tend to be those that allow for decisive and informed decisions based on the needs of
