The protective cover conforms in height and width to the corresponding dimensions of the laptop computer keyboard and is provided in a thin, flat, rectangular section, or panel, fashioned of a material such as vinyl, which is impermeable to liquids and air-borne contaminants, and which is sufficiently soft or deformable that it does not impede typing or interfere with normal laptop computer use and keyboard access when laid on top of the notebook computer keyboard.
