This work has shown the many contributions to the European continent during the course of what is termed "the sweep of Islam" (National Geographic, 1971) evidenced in the introduction of new foods, war articles, new words, mathematics and science contributions and the awakening of Europe to the Greek philosophy as the Islam scientists and writers translated this philosophy into a language that Europe could understand.
