This kind of hearing loss is commonly known as noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and commonly occurs through exposure to excess loud sounds. In such cases, this type of hearing loss cannot be treated or corrected through any surgical or medical procedure. This kind of hearing loss can be brought by a single exposure to a very loud sound that is at least 120 decibels or listening to loud music of at least 85 decibels over a long period of time.
