All of that noted, it still remains that case that hydrogen has the potential to light the way for a better fuel economy, a more efficient society and a more pristine environment in Singapore. There are a great many complexities that must enter into the process of transforming a nation's energy supply, including the creation of generators, power supply stations and sources for transmission to homes, businesses and public spaces. And for Singapore, these complexities will surely apply to the proliferation of a hydrogen fuel source should this be deemed a suitable fuel alternative. Considering the negative impacts of petroleum-based fuel sources -- which are today quite well-known -- and considering the practical drawbacks of the increasingly scrutinized biodiesel model, it seems likely that the outcome of the research proposed here will be a full endorsement of the pursuit of the hydrogen fuel model.
