If I build a reputation for myself to be a hard worker in the kitchen it is going to help me build positive relationships with those that I work with. The team will be able to count on me to get the job done and not try and get out of working. They will also be able to count on me to work in all aspects of the kitchen and not refuse any work simply because it is "not my job."
