The Catholic Church had a particularly influential character during the sixteenth century and this was perfectly reflected by the fact that many individuals across Europe subjected to it and felt that it was essential for them to act in accordance with its legislations. Even with this, a great deal of people considered that the institution had an abusive nature and that particular values that it promoted were immoral. Martin Luther was one of the individuals in Germany who felt that people needed to open their eyes concerning the morally wrong acts committed by the Catholic Church.
