¶ … function for the Gateway Rehabilitation Center (GRC) is the drug and alcohol treatment that assists addicts in kicking their dependency on either drugs or alcohol. As the GRC website touts "if you are abusing alcohol or other drugs, Gateway Rehab's personalized treatment plans can help. Our highly trained experts will give you the tools you need to reclaim your health -- and rediscover a life worth living" (GRC, 2015). In other words, GRC is a regional Center with locations throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania that offers a variety of treatment options for addicts of alcohol and drugs.
Clients Served
GRC offers treatment services to those men, women, and youth addicts from Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. There are 20+ locations, with a main campus in Alquippa, Pennsylvania. There are four locations in Ohio and 16 locations in Pennsylvania. Services are geared towards males, especially the Extended Care division that includes a house for adolescent males between the ages of 13 -- 20 and two halfway houses for adult men. Three additional divisions include the Genesis, Corrections and Ohio divisions. Genesis provides outpatient and detoxification services, Corrections provides services for addicts with legal problems, and the Ohio division caters to those addicts from the North Eastern part of Ohio.
GRC provides extended care programs that are focused on not only the age of the addict but the gender as well. The Extended Care division provides specific help to address the peer pressure, anger, bullying, body-imaging issues and low self-esteem often experienced in the teenage years and that can lead to drug and alcohol use and abuse by teenagers and young adults.
