¶ … family is very close knit, and we have a lot of relatives in the area, so when the holidays roll around, there are always big family gatherings that include dozens of people. That can be a little intimidating if you're not part of the family, or you're little and haven't experienced this kind of big family gathering. I remember when I was little, all the grown ups laughing and carrying on scared me, but I've gotten used to it, and I enjoy these gatherings now.
We are panning one of these big parties for Memorial Day, and the entire family gets in on the planning, too. Everyone brings some special dish to the party for a giant potluck, and whoever's hosting provides the dishes, drinks, and such. My parents are hosting the Memorial Day party, and it's a big deal for us. Dad has been working in the yard to spruce it up and get it ready, because usually, there are so many people we all end up in the backyard, where we have more space for tables and chairs. Mom has been busy deciding what to cook, and what drinks to serve, for the adults and the kids, and plenty of the rest of the family has been offering their own suggestions. Sure, there can be squabbles between people, but for the most part, these parties are all fun for everyone.
I think these parties show me that I like being part of a big family, and that I want a big family myself, someday. I wouldn't want to move away from my family, and miss these gatherings that mean so much to all of us. I feel sorry for people who don't have large families, and don't get to experience these big family gatherings. I wouldn't want to be alone, or with only one or two other people during the holidays, it just wouldn't be the same, or as memorable without a big family to celebrate with. I wish everyone could know what it is like to come from a big family. I think that there is a feeling of security you get from a big family, because you know, without question, that no matter what happens, someone will be there to get your back and always care about you.
Family Systems Theory and Farewell to Manzanar Family roles According to Bowen Family Systems Theory, all family members engage in role-playing beyond those of the conventional roles of 'daughter,' 'husband,' 'son,' and 'father' in relation to one another. Much like characters in a play, family members have other, unstated roles which they develop as the result of 'triangulation' or relationships with other family members. Frequently, these roles are dysfunctional. At the beginning

Family Break Up For a humane, the word 'community' hints at people trying to work out solutions to common problems. The term 'community' generally stands for a group that is bigger and more diverse than a family or any group of people bound together with relationships. It also has more elements than being of the same neighborhood or enclave, though not as large as a county or a nation. Certainly it
Family Assessment Interviewing the selected family was able to illuminate their specific views on health in general along with their particular views on all the specific factors and tenets of health. Just as every family is different, this certain level of differentness can manifest through distinct perspectives on health and various manifestation of health behavior. Strong Families One question that has intrigued researchers in the field of family studies for many years is the question of what constitutes a strong family. Why are some families so close-knit with well-adjusted members who openly love each other and lead productive lives, while other families flounder in a quagmire of dysfunction and trouble?
