Team Project Post-Presentation Report -- ALima Pure Cosmetics
Team Strengths
Our team worked extremely well throughout the pre-work stage. We introduced ourselves to the group and related our self-perceptions about our abilities, interests, and talents. Each of us explained what we thought we could contribute to the team and to the project as individuals. What contributed the most to these strengths was our initial agreement to describe how we hoped to promote the team's objective. Beyond that, we were just fortunate that our respective interests and talents happened to complement one another in ways that gave us comprehensive coverage of all of the smaller tasks necessary to execute a good presentation.
For example, two of our team members specialize in communications and volunteered to present the final product. Another team member specializes in visual arts and volunteered to direct the visual component of the presentation. Two team members were very confident in their writing abilities and volunteered to write, edit, and proofread the promotional copy. We managed to produce a piece that incorporated all of the individual contributions of every team member. We also found a way to resolve our different opinions and points-of-view and we made decisions democratically and cooperatively. During the presentation, we collaborated very effectively in sharing the floor.
Individual Strengths
One thing I did particularly well was to represent my abilities accurately to the team and trust my team mates to do their jobs and direct their areas of contribution. I collaborated with two different team components: I worked on the visual team and also on the editorial team. I am proud of the fact that I was able to help find a consistent tone for all of our content because all of us have somewhat different styles of expressing ourselves. I am also proud that my team mates appreciated my contribution on the visual team and that I was able to fulfil a shared leadership role. In addition to helping our team select the best possible visual images to match our informational content, I also contributed effective editing to help fit all of our information into the presentation. Finally, I am proud that I was able to negotiate differences fairly and confidently at the same time.
