While it is important for an educator to get to know a child through direct experience, it is necessary to get some background information from parents and others who have worked with the child, both to provide continuity and to gain a deeper understanding of the child's accomplishments, strengths and needs. Special educators and classroom teachers must likewise communicate in developing a transition plan for a student. For example, if the student spends time in the regular classroom, the teacher should share lesson plans with the special educator and discuss modifications. Likewise, f the student is pulled out for special services, modified lessons taught by special educators will help prepare the student for transition back to the regular classroom and help keep the student from feeling too isolated from peers. Rosemary Karr, a professor of developmental mathematics at Collin College (Plano, TX), believes that the developmental educator must be a content area specialist as well as a learning specialist (Diaz, 2010, p. 20). Again, the importance of collaboration between classroom teacher and special educator is underscored. Both can share their expertise in designing a transition plan for the individual...
Karr says it is important to accept students where they are, not from where we would like them to be (Diaz, p. 21). The transition plan thus may have to restate goals that were not accomplished. The goals may have to be modified from the original goals. It is not to say that teachers should not challenge students or motivate them to work hard towards goals that have been set for them, but the transition plan should consider the "building blocks" already in place and build further on that foundation after insuring that foundation is solid.Several assessment tools are available, often using data collection sheets that include items such as direct observation and interviews with adults who closely interact with the student. In Justin's case, this group could include Carrie, the paraprofessional who works directly with Justin, in addition to the special education teacher, the speech and language specialist, other teachers who regularly interact with Justin (e.g., art, physical education, music and media), and
" This approach would also help protect computer systems from unauthorized access by insiders as well, he says (3). In the spirit of "fight fire with fire," Rowe says that because computer hackers typically use deceptive practices (e.g., impersonation, viruses/worms, and denial of service attacks), it just makes good sense to turn the tables on the hackers by using honeypots and honeynets to collect the kinds of information required to do
Still, Mason indicates that the opposite is often true in public education settings, where educators, parents and institutions collectively overlook the implications of research and demands imposed by law. Indeed, "despite the IDEA requirements, research results, teacher perceptions, and strong encouragement from disabilities rights advocate, many youth have been left out of IEP and self-determination activities. For example, 31% of the teaches in a 1998 survey reported that they

Communication Skills Attendant upon my transition into the role of Mental Health Staff Nurse, I have devised the following reflective model-to-action plan for the formulation of workable communication skills. Realizing that "…all healthcare professionals require a reasonable level of numeracy for the safe administration of medicines and fluids, budgeting, and the interpretation of statistics," (http://learntech.uwe.ac.uk/numeracy 2011), I determined to include practical strategems for assessing ratios and SI units. Realizing also that contemporary
Pharmaceutical industries have to operate in an environment that is highly competitive and subject to a wide variety of internal and external constraints. In recent times, there has been an increasing trend to reduce the cost of operation while competing with other companies that manufacture products that treat similar afflictions and ailments. The complexities in drug research and development and regulations have created an industry that is subject to intense
