(PETA, 2007) However this organization as well uses methods which are sometimes considered to be illegal. In this sense, the FBI had monitored the activities of the organization and now it considered that "environmental and animal rights militants posed the biggest terrorist threats in the United States, citing more than 150 pending investigations." (Hsu, 2005) However, despite the fact that both Greenpeace and PETA sometimes make use of means that are not in accordance with the law, such as demonstrations with inappropriate behavior taking place, or molestation of cars and vehicles belonging to different environmentally unfriendly companies, these cannot be placed under the same label with organizations or groups that aim at destroying the state government such as the anarchists or promote an intolerant attitude towards different religious groups. Therefore, there are certain aspect of the legislation dealing with the terrorist threat inside the U.S. that need to find a better definition.
