¶ … Criminal Justice Administration. The question ."How augmented reality unmanned aerial vehicles/systems function incorporated a law enforcement agency?." 500 words APA format 3 references
The contemporary society has reached a particularly advanced level when considering technology today and more and more domains start to depend on new technologies. In the current environment, law enforcement agencies need to be effectively prepared to deal with criminals and this means that they need to focus on adopting a series of technologies in order to achieve success in their field of work. Augmented reality and unmanned aerial vehicles/systems are especially intriguing when regarding the use of technology in the context of law enforcement and by considering these two concepts, law enforcement agencies are probable to significantly decrease crime rates.
Augmented reality can be particularly effective when coupled with facial recognition, as these two would provide law enforcement with the ability to rapidly detect criminals. By having AR devices that can recognize faces, police officers can immediately identify criminals and arrest them. In addition to this, officers can record scenes through AR and create 3d videos that can help them get a more complex understanding of crime scenes and that can thus allow them to see them fresh, immediately after a crime was committed on the premises.
An officer's ability to apprehend criminals and to deter crime can be significantly improved as a result of AR. The technology can provide the respective individual with the power to both gather and have access to real time intelligence. Furthermore, it can improve his or her visibility and provides constant contact with colleagues and with headquarters. This technology basically provides the ability to stay on the streets while having access to all the information that one would normally have while being at a police station.
Even with the fact that unmanned aerial vehicles accessible to law enforcement agencies are currently not able to be effective in a series of environments (their functionality can seriously be impeded by concepts such as harsh weather conditions), they can prove to be especially effective in covering ground more rapidly. In addition to this, they can provide officers with the ability to learn more about an environment before actually stepping it and checking it themselves. This can be especially beneficial in cases when criminals are waiting to surprise officers.
The masses are inclined to oppose the use of unmanned aerial vehicles/systems because they fear that this would provide law enforcement agencies with the ability to interfere with their private lives and that it would thus be wrong for them to support such systems. Even with this, the reality is that the technology is already here and that it being present in the hands of police officers can play a significant role in reducing crime levels. People basically have to choose between being paranoid and living in a safer society.
