Computer Science And A Personal Statement Letter

Personal Statement My major is in Computer Information. As a senior level student, I look forward to graduating and taking my skills to the next level -- both in the workplace and in the academic world. However, in order to obtain my goals, I require financial assistance from my university. In the hopes that my successes thus far will show that I will put this assistance to good use, allow me to tell you a bit about myself.

I came to the U.S. from Iran in 2007 with my family, but shortly thereafter my father returned to Iran for work. My sister and I stayed in the States with my mother. It was so hard for me to learn a new language and to understand the people of the U.S. However, I was committed to this task and I studied hard to learn English and go to college. College was always my dream -- and my dream degree was Computer Information Technology (CIT). Learning the language and studying for classes was difficult and I failed my first round -- but I did not give up; I studied harder to pass. The day I applied for university, my heart was biting and I prayed that I would be accepted. When I was finally accepted into my dream university, I saw all of my dreams becoming true.

To this day, I still live with my mother and sister in this country, while my father lives in Iran. I am independent from my family and have always supported myself -- but I am finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the financial requirements of this independent lifestyle while fulfilling my educational aims at the same time.

My career goals extend from my past career achievements. For one year, I worked for HavePC as a graphic designer and web developer, wherein I utilized my computer and design skills, both of which were honed in the classrooms of this university. Merging creative capacities with technical know-how allowed me to experience the thrill of computing can sometimes feel like a solitary occupation, this club allows the isolation to be broken through and a real sense of fellowship developed in its place. I look forward to making this applet club a firm foundation of future growth not only in this university but also in the lives of my fellow students -- a club and tradition that will carry on into the years and allow friendships and partnerships to be forged like steel to last a lifetime.
Already being a "go-to" person among my friends, all of whom seek my advice when it comes to their computer needs, I relish the opportunity to lay the foundations for new roads ahead. I like to think of myself as a digital pioneer -- forging the road ahead, leading the way to a better tomorrow. In the field of computer technology, that better tomorrow, I believe, is just around the corner -- and I look forward to rounding that corner and being part of the global community that brings it into existence.

As a CIT major, I look forward to my role in the world of tomorrow: I embrace the challenges, viewing them as opportunities to grow and develop. So far I have excelled in each of my classes, committing myself…
