After I started to read his commentary bible, something in my heart changed. I felt as if I was lifted and happiness dwelt in me. I asked my husband if he was baptized and he said 'yes.' At the time, I did not even know what baptism was all about. Raised as a Catholic, all I thought was that being baptized as an infant is all I needed. After reading and studying the bible, especially this verse from (Acts 2:38), "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit," which was yet another turning point for me because all of this time, I really thought that I was saved. There nowhere in the bible that said, that if we are baptized as a child that we will be saved, but the salvation offered by Jesus Christ is readily available to anyone who wants to take advantage of this marvelous gift as a consenting adult.
