This is significant, because it shows how the company is continually practicing and addressing different ethical challenges on a regular basis. In many ways, one could argue that this is what has helped the company to become so successful. As these standards will change the culture within an environment, helping to improve the professionalism of staff and the relationship that they have with customers / suppliers. When you put these two different elements together, this highlights the how Lockheed Martin has been able to use their ethics policy, to change the way everyone handles a host of ethical situations on a daily basis.
