To begin with, it is important to clarify the caption "natural beef," since it is not self-evident what "natural" means. According to a factsheet from the Food Safety and Inspection Service (2011), part of the United States Department of Agriculture, using the term "natural" on a beef product implies the following: the product is minimally processed and it does not contain any artificial flavoring, coloring or chemical preservatives.
