¶ … attendance in this course has been enlightening, specifically regarding how I now write as compared to previous attempts to put my words in a collaborative form. As this course began, I believed myself fairly decent at using the written word to convey my thoughts, feelings and perceptions to the average reader. I did not know, however, that academic writing was much more structured than what I had been previously exposed to. For example, I knew what citations were, I understood that they required in a research paper and I knew the term plagiarism and how correct use of citations lowered the possibility of having the term used against me. I also knew there were different styles of citation. I did not, however, know the specifics of citations and who uses what, or that different fields and industries used citations for their own purpose. Now I know that educational research papers normally will use APA style, the English department (at various educational institutions) will use MLA, and that attorneys and the legal industry implements the use of Harvard style citing. I also understand the use of sustainability in the field of education, when beforehand I had no clue as to what it meant. Writing sustainably (to me) means that my words will have import throughout time, rather than containing (perhaps) enough impact to catch some attention, but then be...
Sustaining the first paragraph throughout the rest of the paper, or the essay's idea throughout the entire essay, or writing a research paper with a thesis statement that is either proved or disproved and how that thesis is integrated into other disciplines and how it sustains itself when it is integrated. With that understanding, I can write so that other disciplines besides my own can be affected by what I have written. But the rabbi could also serve as the connection between a Jewish ghetto and the surrounding Christian community. This dual raised status of rabbis made their role the most enviable in the community. But the shifts in French society that occurred in the decades just preceding and following the French Revolution created cracks in the isolation of European Jews. The French Revolution is generally seen as an overthrow of the
Title A well-written title serves two fundamental purposes in research. The first purpose of the title is to provide a “clear statement to the reader of what to expect,” and the second purpose is to “help someone searching for an article on your topic area to find your paper,” (“What Makes a Good Title?” 2013). A clever title might not serve either of these purposes, which is why authors like Rejno,
Religious Field Research Because of the diversity within Buddhism, the religion is widely misunderstood and misrepresented. Before visiting the local chapter of a Buddhist organization, I was mystified by all of the different groups in the area. I had met a practitioner of Nichren Buddhism last month, and decided to find out if I could attend the religious service as part of my field research. After phoning in advance, it was

Churches from all denominations popped up throughout established colonies and cities within the United States. Religious growth also spread throughout England, Wales and Scotland. Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens' "Cornerstone Speech" The Civil War was by far the most costly war in terms of human life ever fought by the United States, and the events that precipitated this conflict on U.S. soil included the succession of seven Southern states by March 1861 to form the Confederate States of America. With President Jefferson Davis leading the way, his vice president, Alexander Stephens, delivered a speech
