Army Soldiers Creed

Citizens who are not soldiers cannot begin to understand the personal, emotional and patriotic importance of being an American soldier. Being an American soldier is more than a job and more than a function in society. It is more even than a way of life. Being an American is just that: a state of being. There is nothing more important in the world than your work as a soldier. There is nothing greater in the world than the United States of America.

An American soldier has a mindset that does not accept either defeat or weakness. The mission comes first, and takes the top position in the mind of the American soldier until it is completed. All other weaknesses are secondary to completing the mission.

This does not however mean that soldiers forget each other. Soldiers never leave their fallen comrades. If someone should be injured on a mission, it is vitally important to see that person to safety until the mission is complete. Soldiers view each other as parts of a collective military machine that functions together to complete the mission. The success of the mission can only be guaranteed if all soldiers work in perfect unison. This is why fallen comrades are cared for as if they are family; the army is a type of family, of which each member is equally important and performs a vital function.

A soldier is also discipline in both physical and mental strength. Battle and other military functions can be extremely stressful. It is therefore important that American soldiers remain disciplined in all their physical and mental exercises. Both tasks and chores receive equal disciplined attention. An American soldier is proud of himself, his equipment, and his work.

This discipline is the only basis from which the American soldier can defend the American way of life. America is the most important consideration in all the soldier's tasks. Everything else focuses on the protection and care of the United States and all it stands for. This is why I am proud of my work and my life as an American soldier.
