Research when done well, albeit clinical, experimental, or historical must begin with the author presenting a well developed need for the research followed by an answerable research question. The research under review for this assignment failed to present a well-defined research question. The authors should have stated the question as to whether or not there exists a correlation between old and youth age weight and exercise with respect to longevity. Another question the authors should have proposed is whether or not there exists an effect of longevity with respect to a person's specific weight level during youth (i.e., 21 years of age). Also, the authors failed to define, by way of a properly reported research question, that which constitutes weight effect, i.e., gender, food types, height, socio-economic class, ethnicity, and type of exercise. All these questions are needed if there is to exist credible and prudent information dissemination.
Needed Research Improvement. As stated above researchers have an obligation to the reader to present a well-defined research question. Following the research question there needs to exist a sustainable testable hypothesis. The research study being reviewed would have been greatly improved had the authors stated a testable hypothesis (null form) similar to the following: There exists no statistically significant difference at the
