Another reason for not seeking treatment is that people are sacred of the mental illness help. People get scared and are afraid of what will happen if they agree to go ahead and get help. They often have visions of electrocutions, over-medicated zombies as well as being forced to stay in asylums. They also do not seek treatment since they are overwhelmed by the mental health problems. People with mental health problems are worst placed mentally and they are not at the best state to make any decisions. They are often scared, lonely and they are doing anything so as to get on to the next day. Therefore adding the idea of getting help to what they are going through is terrifying to them hence they do not seek help (Conley, 2012).

Improving mental health treatment in the community

The treatment of mental health problem is very crucial .As a health leader I have to ensure that there is an improvement for the treatment of mental health problems within the community. I will achieve this through helping to overcome the stigma that comes with mental health problems. I can do this through community...

I will also ensure that people in the community are able to get the care that they need as well as making it available. This will be through ensuring that there are enough facilities available in the community for those who have mental health problems to access. I will also ensure that I improve public awareness regarding effective treatment. I will also ensure that there are no financial barriers when it comes to getting treatment. I will ensure that the facilities that give treatment to mental health problems at affordable costs. This will ensure that no one shies from getting treatment with the excuse that they can afford the treatment.
