Currently I am a patient care assistant at a local hospital, a position I dearly enjoy. I still get stressed out, especially when I go to work while my four-year-old is ill. Yet for some reason I always come home happy and satisfied. I would like to continue working along these lines, but in a more challenging position as an LPN who specializes in adolescent psychology. The patients who gravitate toward me the most seem to be those who can relate to me most. I would be equally as effective working with seniors or the disabled, but because I can empathize so well with troubled teens I feel...
My topsy-turvy teenage years give me the strength and conviction to help others, and I don't at all feel that could be a simple coincidence. In "Piaf," Pam Gems provides a view into the life of the great French singer and arguably the greatest singer of her generation -- Edith Piaf. (Fildier and Primack, 1981), the slices that the playwright provides, more than adequately trace her life. Edith was born a waif on the streets of Paris (literally under a lamp-post). Abandoned by her parents -- a drunken street singer for a mother and a
