Project Management: Lessons Learned From Project Plans in the New World
The article Project Plans in the New World (osenwinkel (1995) provides many useful insights into how to manage a complex project successfully, taking into account the many factors or variables that are crucial for a project's success. The author concentrates on the "Free Wheeler" type of project leader who often ignores constraints of time, cost and resources in determining how to successfully manage a complex project to completion (osenwinkel, 1995). Comparing this article to experiences launching new products, followed by an interpretation of two "people" and "project" variables, and a summary of how a project's direction and scope would need to be modified based on lessons learned from osenwinkel (1995) are presented in this paper.

EP Project Plan
Objective of this project is to present the project plan for the Enterprises esources Planning (EP). The whole project plan will span for approximately 18 months. The project will start on the 4 June 2012 and end by 30 December 2013. Each of the major phases of the project is broken down in-between 8 and 10 sub-processes. The study uses Microsoft project to complete the plan and the GANTT chart. "The basic purpose of a GANTT Chart is to break a large project into a series of smaller tasks in an organized way. The chart shows when each task should begin and how long it should take." (University of Michigan, 2002 P. 1). The Fig 1 provides the Gantt chart and the project plan and time-frame to complete each process. Overall Project plan is as follows:

Price in the automobile industry
In most products and services, variations in demand are indirectly correlated with variations in price, and vice versa. For instance, in the scenario of an increasing demand for the product X, it is expected that the same product supply be less able to serve the entire need. In order to regulate the demand then, the product would be retailed at a higher price. Vice versa, when the demand for an item decreases, it is expected that its retail price suffers a reduction in order to stimulate the demand.
Within the automobile industry, prices play an essential role in shaping the demand for the automobiles and the adherent accessories and services. And the most relevant example in…...

CRM Project Plan
CustomerSuccess2015
Project Description
Connecting with and keeping customers buying over the long-term is essential for any business to grow over time. One of the most cost-effective and efficient approaches to galvanizing a company around its customers is to use a CRM system (Banerjea, 2011). Cloud-based CRM systems are adept at quickly being deployed across any size organization, providing a more unified view of the customer and greater insights into overall purchasing activity (Harding, Cheifetz, DeAngelo, Ziegler, 2004). The CustomerSuccess2015 project is designed to enable our company to better attract, sell and serve our customers.
Business Justification
The following is from the Project Justification, which shows the costs and benefits of the project:
With a total cost of $90,000 and a monthly subscription fee of $10,000 for all components including integration and security services, the costs of the planned CRM implementation need to be compared with the potential benefits to determine the return on…...
MacVille Villiano Coffee Project Plan
Final Project Overview
Overall, the project has been a success. Despite a few mishaps and lessons learned, the venue was a hit and the budget was satisfactory enough to pull off a great marketing campaign for the event and the brand. With the whole team working together, it was a successful event.
Still, there were some clear issues that could have been worked out better before the event took place. For one, the choices of the venue was sufficient, but could have been more cost effective and have provided a more pleasurable ambiance for the event. The venue that was chosen for the event was at the South Australian Maritime Museum. This venue offered a great location, close to modern development and amenities. Yet, in hindsight, the Greenway Art Gallery might have been a better choice. The South Australian Maritime Museum was the costlier of the two…...

Health Promotion Plan for End-Stage Dementia
Globally, an estimated 35.6 million adults are living with dementia, a number expected to double by 2030 and triple by 2050 (World Health Organization, 2014). Most patients with dementia in the United States will die in a nursing home (reviewed by Goodman et al., 2010), which means that these patients sometimes live for years within these institutions. The level of dementia care required can sometimes be quite high as the ability for self-care and effective communication is lost (Puurveen, n.d.). These facts and statistics explain why an estimated $157 to $215 billion is spent each year on dementia care in the U.S. And why there is a need for cost effective and humane dementia care globally; however, some care professionals have questioned the efficacy of the traditional medical model and the humaneness of the…...

video is very shocking because it basically exposes how law enforcement officers will use duress or "wear down" a suspect and provide that suspect with details of a crime so that the suspect can later "confess" in detail about the crime that he/she committed -- when in actuality the story was essentially fed to the suspect by the officers who think (or not) that they have found the guilty party and just need to coerce him (over a number of hours -- not recorded on videotape) using whatever tactics they deem necessary (the judge and jury never see these tactics because they are not recorded but it may be surmised that they border on torture, which should invalidate any confession then and there). What is most infuriating is that these officers essentially act as judge and jury themselves in that they determine the guilt of their suspect and then…...

The use of Gantt charts for enabling interprocess integration and knowledge management in the A&D industry is a best practice for also managing process-intensive projects (Singh, Keil, Kasi, 2009). These include the development of new computer systems and advanced technologies where the project needs to capture the knowledge to fulfill its objectives. Project management's core set of tools therefore needs to be focused on how to augment and strengthen project performance while also capturing process and product knowledge critical to its success (Besner, Hobbs, 2006). The combining of Gantt charts, progress reports, change requests and the use of kick-off meetings to set objectives is critical in this regard.

.....project management approach is increasingly becoming popular in today's workplace. Organisations are ever more recognising the benefits of accomplishing tasks and activities as projects -- better task coordination, quicker task execution, and so on (Larson et al., 2013). The author's organisation, a renewable energy firm with operations in Australia and beyond, has particularly been shifting to the project management approach in recent years. The organisation is currently interested in acquiring or merging with a suitable rival to improve its market share and competitive advantage. The merger or acquisition process is often not an easy undertaking. It requires proper planning and execution. With the application of project management concepts, however, the process can be easier. This report analyses the relevance of various project management concepts to the merger or acquisition process. Attention is particularly paid to the project environment, project definition, time and cost estimation, project plan, risk management, resource scheduling,…...
Project isk Management
isks associated with projects successful completion
A project is an undertaking of human beings towards satisfying world needs. Projects are endeavors with a defined beginning and an end. Projects suffer from scope, time, cost and quality constraints. It is necessary for project managers to manage the risk of developing weak scope. Scope of a project incorporates the objectives of a project, the target population, the output and impact of that endeavor. Therefore, managers of project need to do a problem analysis, stakeholder analysis, environment analysis to know if the project is sustainable (Cleland & King, 1988). On the risk of time, managers need skills on time management. Management of projects requires one to be well versed in developing schedules. Time management involves developing systems that has a specific time of completion and start time.
Scheduling of projects includes hiring of individuals for the accomplishment of projects. There is a need…...

Project schedule and risk management are some of the most important components of project management. These components play a crucial role in project planning, which is a process used to organize various areas of a project such as workloads and management of the project team. Project schedule basically refers to a listing of the activities or tasks, milestones, and deliverables of a project that includes the expected start and finish dates ("Project Scheduling," n.d.). isk management is a process through which a project manager and team predicts risks, estimates impacts of these risks on the project, and describe reactions to these issues. This process usually involves the preparation of a risk management plan or outline in order to accomplish these goals.

One of the most important aspects to consider when developing a project schedule is all the work that needs to be completed. The need…...

Signatures Inc. is a company that focuses on manufacturing personalized products like coffee mugs and pens with company logos. The firm generates over $40 million in annual revenues with a workforce of more than 300 workers. Since the company is in the middle of a large multimillion-dollar SCM implementation, it has hired a project management outsourcing company to take charge of its project management efforts. The decision to outsource its project management initiatives is based on the challenges it has experienced in middle of this costly implementation process. Actually, Signatures' implementation of the expensive SCM project has been failing because of three major reasons. The three reasons are the use of traditional waterfall methodology, failure to follow SDLC and skipping the testing phase, and the development of the project plan during the analysis stage, which was never followed or updated by the old project manager. Therefore, the company…...
